WPScale offers domain name registration. If you want to buy and manage your domain names and email addresses directly from the WPScale console, visit our dedicated documentation.
Point the domain name
If your domain name wasn’t purchased from WPScale, you must make sure your new domain name points to our server, with and without WWW. You can use the following article to do this : Changing DNS.
Once the new domain name points where it should, you can make sure by using the tool What's My DNS. You should choose the solution adapted to your needs, depending on whether your current site is in HTTP or HTTPS (with SSL).
A : Your current site is in HTTPS
If your current site is already in HTTPS, then you need to :
- Click on the "Return to the temporary WPScale NDD" button on your WPScale console.
- Once the first step has been completed, click the "Change domain name" button to register the new domain name.
B : Your current site is in HTTP
If your site is still in HTTP, you must first activate an SSL certificate on your site.
For this, you can use the following article : Using Let's Encrypt.
Once the Let's Encrypt SSL certificate installation is complete, you can then follow step A above.
Please note that all new WordPresses are now automatically HTTPS-enabled, so if your WordPress is new to us, you don't need to follow the Let's Encrypt SSL certificate installation steps :)
